If you sit in your car for too long after you pull into the Homestead, the locals tend to mosey over and check on ya. 😺#hawkeshomesteadnd#animalsanctuary#tatertot ... See MoreSee Less

Thank you all SO MUCH for donating and sharing!! Our fundraiser total is just over $1200 this morning!! Any additional funds will go toward stocking up winter grain for the chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, and piggies! If you have an extra couple dollars on hand this week, we would deeply appreciate your help laying in hay and straw for the animals for the winter! Each square bale we buy is around $5, and every single bale counts when it gets down to North Dakota cold for so many months in a row. With delivery/pickup costs, we are expecting to spend around $1200-1500 on these in the next few weeks.Straw bales are used for warmth, dryness, and bedding for everyone, all the way from the horses down to the barn cats. Hay is the primary feed source for the sheep, goats, llama, donkey, and horses in the winter, replacing their pasture grass. Your support for our 150+ residents is critical as we try to keep them comfortable and healthy! Our paypal is paypal.me/hawkeshomestead Venmo @JessicaHawkes84We also accept credit cards via Square and checks by mail if you prefer, just get in touch!#hawkeshomesteadnd#animalsanctuary ... We have been struggling with the piggies knocking the main horse gate off its hinges again. They're solid muscle, even if they do look like ornery vienna sausages lol.Lots of chains and zipties later, the horses are back in and secure, but Tyme did get to enjoy a gorgeous evening out last week before we got it fixed. ❤️#hawkeshomesteadnd#animalsanctuary#seniorhorse#tyme ... This is definitely our favorite time of year for doing the outdoor chores. Not too hot, not too cold, not too wet, not too dry, just happy animals and long comfy evenings. ❤️#hawkeshomesteadnd#animalsanctuary #pinkie ... See MoreSee Less
